Shield Advanced Solutions Enhances Job Queue Activity Tracker for IBM i

Shield Advanced Solutions has announced enhancements to JobQGenie, an IBM i product that captures job queue activity for replication. JobQGenie allows the tracking of jobs as they flow through their life cycle, and the information collected is stored in database files that can be replicated via high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) software to a remote system, where it can be used for application recovery. Shield has also added support for *LDA data and library list collection for jobs on the job queue.

PowerTech Makes Updated Open-Source Security Policy for IBM i Available Free

PowerTech, has updated its open-source security policy for IBM i servers. This policy can be downloaded in either Word or PDF file format, free, from the resources and downloads page at the PowerTech website. The policy is an open-source document, so companies can use it "as is" for their security policy or customize it to meet their specific requirements. The policy is also a reference for evaluating security requirements and a starting point for creating a set of security recommendations. Many companies use it as the first step in a general security appraisal.
