Gamma Software Introduces New Maintenance Scheduling Solution
Gamma Software has announced the availability of a new IBM i application that helps companies track the maintenance of business equipment such as automobiles and heavy machinery. The Maintenance Scheduling System supports multiple companies, locations, and departments. Managers can automatically generate work orders for required maintenance on a preset schedule by date, number of days, miles, kilometers, hours, cycle count, or any other unit of measure. Work orders also can be created manually for any unplanned maintenance. Equipment maintenance costs are tracked by user-defined service categories (labor, materials, etc.) and for any time period. Default labor rates can be set at the location, department, trade, and service category levels and overridden for an individual employee when necessary. MSS supports up to 999 tasks per work order and each task can have unlimited instructions. Parts and supplies can be requisitioned from inventory or can be entered as non-stocked items. Work orders, costs, and meter reading history is retained for the life of the equipment.

Attachmate Eases Windows 7 Migration Tasks
Attachmate releases Attachmate Reflection Standard Suite 2011, the latest version of the company’s terminal emulation software. The upgrade is designed to help companies standardize on a single host connectivity solution while migrating to Microsoft Windows 7 client PCs attached to IBM i, IBM z, UNIX, and Open VMS hosts. The 2011 suite supports security features such as SSL/TLS and SSH encryption that’s validated for FIPS 140-2 and the U.S. Department of Defense’s PKI program. Also, the upgrade offers customizable session tabs, supports key Windows 7 features, and lets users employ Microsoft’s Bing search engine without leaving host applications. Linoma Software has launched a new release of GoAnywhere Director, a managed file transfer (MFT) solution that automates data movement, encryption, compression, and data translation for the enterprise. The solution helps organizations meet compliance requirements by securely connecting to almost any system, database, or trading partner with detailed audit logs and status alerts. GoAnywhere Director 3.2.0 provides a connector for sending data using the AS2 version 1.2 standard. This includes support for multiple file attachments within a single AS2 message, synchronous MDN receipts, and message integrity verification. XpoLog has introduced XpoLog Center 4.2, the latest version of its enterprise log analysis platform.
