Linoma Software's GoAnywhere file transfer solution has been validated to run on the Power p and System z and mrc has given its m-Power application modernisation tool a new graphical interface.

Linoma worked with IBM's appropriately named Chiphopper programme to verify that GoAnywhere operates on Linux and AIX operating systems for the Power p as well as Linux on the System z mainframe without any adverse effects to functionality or performance.

GoAnywhere is a J2EE application that connects to database and file systems for retrieving, transforming, encrypting, compressing and distributing data through a managed environment. Providing an audited and secured approach to file movement, it is distributed in the UK by CHH Consulting.

Mrc says that the new graphical interface for m-Power has improved navigation and lets users access the screens they need more easily. A new Application Hub screen gives the developer all application options in one place. M-Power can be used to create web applications such as reports, business intelligence, executive dashboards, e-commerce, customer portals and wireless applications.
