American training group System i Developer has formally announced its two-day RPG & DB2 Summit on May 20 and 21 in Barcelona in conjunction with CEC2008, the Common Europe Congress annual conference.

The RPG & DB2 Summit section of CEC2008 will focus on the latest tips and techniques related to RPG IV, ILE, SQL, PHP, XML and other application development technologies There will also be sessions on the RPG enhancements in V6R1 and on preparing for the move to the latest version of the OS, including program object conversions. The presenters are Jon Paris, Paul Tuohy and Susan Gantner.

"Jon, Susan and I have taught sessions at Common Europe events for many years," explains Paul Touhy, System i Developer partner. "When we started receiving requests to bring the RPG & DB2 Summit to Europe, it made sense to do so in cooperation with Common as an extension of the development portion of their annual event. This model gives attendees the widest range of options for customising their education at very affordable prices. They can attend just the CEC2008 event, just the development-oriented Summit event, or they can attend both for just 250 euros more than the standard CEC2008 registration fee."
